Airbnb has permanently banned parties and events at homes on its platform

The temporary public health measure introduced during the COVID-19 lockdown in August 2020 proved popular with hosts after the number of complaints about parties dropped by 44% since its implementation.

Exceptions to the global ban may be made for “specialty and traditional hospitality venues” in the future.

Airbnb also said it would remove a limit on the number of people its listings are allowed to accommodate at any one time – they previously imposed a 16 person limit to occupants.
