Last August, Rishi Sunak introduced Apprenticeship Financial Incentives which offered firms £2,000 to take on apprentices aged 16-24, while those that employ apprentices aged 25+ are paid £1,500.
In the 2021 Budget, the Chancellor announced that these incentives will be extended by 6 months to September- any employers who hire a new apprentice between 01 April and 30 September 2021 will receive £3,000 per new hire, regardless of age.
You can only apply for new apprentices who joined your organisation between 01 August 2020 and 30 September 2021. You cannot apply for an existing employee who joined your organisation before 01 August 2020, even if they started an apprenticeship after this date.
